It’s the overarching, often unspoken idea that there is a collective correctness—a singular "common sense"—that must be adhered to.
Between personal assessments of traumatic experience and external pressure, dogma has plenty of influence over us all at all times.
After all, we are social creatures heavily influenced by the perceived pains and pleasures of the moment. Most people are just trying to believe whatever to get through the day without trouble.
